Attended by 600 last year, the Church Growth Conference is the Diocese of Guildford's largest annual gathering and everyone is welcome. It provides a valuable opportunity for the clergy, PCC, staff and other ministry leaders from each parish to come as a team, together with any members of your congregation who would like to join us.
These are exciting times in the UK and we will continue to explore the opportunities for church growth created by this new season on spiritual awaking. Our keynote speakers this year are:
- Rt Revd Ruth Bushyager, Bishop of Horsham, Chair of CPAS and Archbishops' Evangelist, who led St Paul’s Dorking until she was consecrated the youngest bishop in the Church of England. Bishop Ruth is now much in demand across the UK as a platform speaker on discipleship and evangelism. Bishop Ruth will focus on how Church of England parishes of all traditions can take their congregations deeper in commitment to Christ, share faith effectively and create the conditions which enable new Christians to flourish.
- Gavin Calver, one of the UK’s most inspirational evangelists and broadcasters. A former leader of Youth for Christ and Chair of Spring Harvest and author of seven books, Gavin is now Chief Executive of the Evangelical Alliance. He has a passion to see churches working together to share the gospel across the UK and will explore in-depth research conducted amongst new Christians on what prompted them to explore faith, the role of Christian friends and churches in their journeys and the strategies now being adopted by the fastest growing churches within and beyond the Church of England.
There will be an exhibition and a focus throughout the day on those evangelistic strategies, tactics and resources which are proving to be most effective in the current context and helping to inspire and equip all in our congregations to share their faith.
The attendance fee of £12 per person includes lunch.
