About this Event
In this accessible crochet workshop, you'll learn how to create your first crochet project using oversized tools and thick yarn.
Throughout the session, you'll learn the foundational stitches of crochet and use them to create three samples:
- a square of single crochets
- a circles, trying crochet in the round
- a basic blanket square
This hands-on activity welcomes complete beginners, requiring no previous craft experience. The use of large 10-12mm hooks and soft, stretchy t-shirt yarn makes the stitches easier to see and handle. Perfect for those who might feel intimidated by traditional fine crochet work.
The chunky materials allow you to progress quickly and see results sooner than with conventional fine yarn, creating an encouraging learning experience.
By the end of this enjoyable workshop, you'll have begun your first crochet project and gained the basic skills needed to continue developing this rewarding craft. You'll take home both your hook and a ball of yarn, allowing you to keep practising and expanding your newfound crochet abilities.
