Ceramic Christmas Wreath Workshop
Embrace the magic of the season and join local artist Helen McCormick for a festive, creative day at The Walronds. Hand-build a stunning, everlasting Christmas wreath from clay to adorn your home for years to come.
About the Workshop
This workshop is designed to be a relaxed, friendly space where you can meet new people and soak up the holiday spirit while you create.
- Morning Session: You will learn how to design and hand-build your own Christmas wreath using traditional slab-building techniques. We will create festive elements such as holly leaves, ivy, berries, pinecones, and stars, exploring various natural textures.
- Afternoon Session: Add the finishing touches by learning how to apply colour and enhance your design.
No prior experience is necessary—I will guide you step-by-step through the entire process.
What’s Included
- All clay, slips, tools, and equipment.
- Tea and coffee provided throughout the day.
- Professional kiln firing of your finished piece.
What to Bring
- A packed lunch.
- An apron and old clothes you don't mind getting a little dusty.
- Top Tip: I advise trimming long nails, as the clay is very soft and easy to mark!
The Firing Process & Collection
After the workshop, I will take your wreath to my studio to be kiln-fired. Your beautiful creation will be ready for collection from The Walronds approximately 6 weeks after the workshop. I will contact you with specific dates and times.
- Please note: Finished work can be stored for up to 6 months before being donated to charity.
Refund & Cancellation Policy
I understand that plans can change, but as a small micro business (only me), last-minute cancellations are difficult to fill. My policy is as follows:
- 14 days or more before the event: Full refund of the ticket price provided.
- 7 to 13 days before the event: Full refund ONLY if I am able to fill your space (minus the booking fee) OR a ticket transfer to a future workshop of the same value.
- 3 to 7 days before the event: 75% refund of the ticket price ONLY if I am able to fill your space (minus the booking fee). No ticket transfers.
- 2 days (48 hours) before the event: 50% refund of the ticket price ONLY if I am able to fill your space (minus the booking fee). No ticket transfers.
- Less than 48 hours or No-shows: No refunds or transfers can be offered.
If I have to cancel the workshop for any reason, you will receive a full refund.
Location & Parking
Venue: The Walronds, Cullompton.
FREE Parking: Available at the rear of the building.
- Directions: Turn up Tiverton Road from the High Street, then turn left onto Shortlands Lane (just before the fire station). Follow the narrow lane, turn left at the car park sign, and go through the gate.

About Helen McCormick
I have been creating objects from clay for over 30 years and still absolutely love the process. I am passionate about sharing my skills and experience with others, whether it's your first time touching clay or you're looking to develop further.I am a fully qualified Art and Design teacher (PGCE) with a Master’s degree in Ceramics and hold an enhanced DBS check.
