Christmas Gonk Sculpture Workshop
Step into the holiday spirit with this fun and relaxed workshop. Learn how to hand-build your very own 3D Christmas Gonk sculpture using traditional pottery techniques, adding a touch of festive charm to your home!
About the Workshop
Perfect for makers of all levels, this workshop is a wonderful way to celebrate the season. Throughout the session, I’ll guide you step-by-step through the process of shaping, sculpting, and decorating your Gonk.You will bring your character to life using colourful slips, adding jolly hats, bushy beards, and a sprinkle of Christmas magic. No experience is necessary, just bring your creativity and a bit of festive cheer!
What’s Included
- All clay, slips, tools, and equipment.
- Tea and coffee provided throughout the morning.
- Professional glazing and kiln firing of your finished piece.
What to Bring
- An apron and old clothes you don't mind getting a little dusty.
- Plenty of festive cheer!
The Firing & Glazing Process
After the workshop, I will carefully take your Gonk sculpture home to be kiln-fired. Your sculpture will be finished with a transparent glaze to protect it and make the colours pop.
- Collection: I will do my absolute best to have your work ready for collection from The Walronds before Christmas. I will contact you with the specific date and time for collection once they are out of the kiln.
- Please note: Finished work can be stored for up to 6 months before being donated to charity.
Refund & Cancellation Policy
I understand that plans can change, but as a small micro business (only me), last-minute cancellations are difficult to fill. My policy is as follows:
- 14 days or more before the event: Full refund of the ticket price provided.
- 7 to 13 days before the event: Full refund ONLY if I am able to fill your space (minus the booking fee) OR a ticket transfer to a future workshop of the same value.
- 3 to 7 days before the event: 75% refund of the ticket price ONLY if I am able to fill your space (minus the booking fee). No ticket transfers.
- 2 days (48 hours) before the event: 50% refund of the ticket price ONLY if I am able to fill your space (minus the booking fee). No ticket transfers.
- Less than 48 hours or No-shows: No refunds or transfers can be offered.
If I have to cancel the workshop for any reason, you will receive a full refund.
Location & Parking
Venue: The Walronds, Cullompton.
FREE Parking: Available at the rear of the building.
- Directions: Turn up Tiverton Road from the High Street, then turn left onto Shortlands Lane (just before the fire station). Follow the narrow lane, turn left at the car park sign, and go through the gate.

I have been creating objects from clay for over 30 years and still absolutely love the process. I am passionate about sharing my skills and experience with others, whether it's your first time touching clay or you're looking to develop further.I am a fully qualified Art and Design teacher with a Master’s degree in Ceramics and hold an enhanced DBS check.
