About this Event
Kaurna woman and Indigenous artist, Aunty Elaine Magias shares her knowledge and experience to teach you this cultural custom with diverse natural materials and techniques as well as the mediative state weaving provides. Learn traditional Aboriginal weaving techniques to create your own unique piece to take home.
Elaine's workshops offer a full cultural experience, fostering a safe and comfortable environment where conversations about Aboriginal culture, language, art, and beliefs flow easily.
All materials are provided, and participants will leave with a new skill and possibly new friends. The woven items will hold memories of the time, place, and positive emotions experienced during the workshop.
Elaine, who learned traditional weaving from her Elders, has been hosting cultural weaving workshops for five years.
For adults. Free. Bookings essential.
