Join us for a very special Christmas evening at the historic Castle Hotel, Tamworth, with renowned historian, author and BBC WM broadcaster Professor Carl Chinn MBE.
Carl brings his acclaimed illustrated talk, "Dickens, Christmas and Birmingham", exploring Charles Dickens's decades-long love affair with the city, from his famous readings at Birmingham Town Hall to the Victorian Christmas traditions that shaped the season we know today.
With so many Tamworth families tracing their roots back to Birmingham, this is a story close to home for many of us. Join us for an evening of history, storytelling and Christmas spirit.
What to expect:
- Doors open at 7:00 PM with a festive welcome
- An illustrated talk from Carl Chinn, approximately 45 to 60 minutes
- Live Q&A with Carl
- Mingling afterwards, with the bar open

- Standard, £20: entry to the talk and Q&A
- Premium, £25: entry to the talk and Q&A, plus a meet and greet with Carl before the talk and reserved seating close to the speaker
