Christmas magic isn't one-size-fits-all. Our Quiet Santa experience has been specially created for children and families who would benefit from a calmer, quieter and more relaxed visit to Santa.
The session is particularly suitable for children who may find busy Christmas events overwhelming, including autistic children and children with sensory sensitivities, additional needs or anxiety.
The experience follows the same magical story as our main Santa event. Santa has come to Tamworth Castle for a well-earned rest before Christmas Eve, but his Good and Naughty Elves have been causing a little Christmas chaos!
Families will explore the historic Northside of the Castle, spot the mischievous elves, help find the reindeers' missing carrots, write a letter to Santa and send it up the Castle chimney, enjoy a Christmas craft and, of course, meet Santa.
What makes Quiet Santa different?
• A smaller group and calmer environment.
• Reduced background noise and music.
• No sudden loud noises or unexpected surprises.
• A relaxed pace, with time to explore and take things at their own speed.
• Children can join in with activities or simply watch.
• There is no expectation for children to speak to, touch or sit with Santa.
• Families can stay together throughout the experience.
• Children can step away from an activity whenever they need to.
• Our Castle staff will gently guide families through the experience, explaining what is happening and what comes next.
• The elves are mainly handmade decorations and props for children to discover around the Castle. There is no expectation that children interact with them.
• Some members of our team may dress as elves, while others will be in their Castle uniform or festive Christmas jumpers.
We will also provide families with information about what to expect during the visit, including the route and activities, so that you can prepare your child before you arrive.

The Quiet Santa experience takes place while essential conservation and repair work continues at Tamworth Castle. The experience is located within the historic Northside of the Castle and visitors may see scaffolding, building works and closed areas during their visit.
The experience has been specially designed around the Castle as it is during this period of conservation.
