Higham Christmas Day WalkGuided Group Walk
Join us for a gentle 3 mile Christmas Day walk from Higham, a free community walk open to anyone who fancies getting outside, stretching their legs and enjoying a little fresh air on Christmas Day.
We appreciate that Christmas Day looks different for everyone. Over the last few Christmases, we’ve put on a short walk and met some lovely people, all with different reasons for coming along. For some, it’s a chance to get out of the house, for others it’s a way to enjoy a little company, and for some it’s simply about getting some fresh air before or after the festivities.
This isn’t a themed Christmas walk, so if Christmas isn’t really your thing, don’t worry – there’ll be no Christmas hats or jumpers required! Just a simple, gentle walk, a friendly welcome and a chance to enjoy the outdoors.
The event is completely free, but you’ll still need to secure your place by booking. If you book and can no longer make it, please let us know as soon as possible. We appreciate that free events can have a higher drop out rate, but we had a waiting list last year and would love to make sure everyone who wants to join us has the opportunity to do so.
The walk
Starting in Higham, we’ll head out on a simple and gentle 3 mile circular route, enjoying the surrounding countryside and getting some fresh air on Christmas Day.
This is intended to be a relaxed, easygoing walk rather than a challenge, with a comfortable pace and plenty of opportunity to chat along the way. Whether you’re looking to stretch your legs, enjoy some company, take a break from the Christmas festivities or simply get out of the house for a little while, you’re very welcome.
There’s no pressure to dress up, be festive or even talk about Christmas! Just bring suitable footwear, wrap up warm and join us for a gentle walk with friendly faces.
We know that Christmas can mean many different things to different people, and this is simply an opportunity to get together, enjoy the outdoors and spend a little time in good company.
Come and walk with us
Our mixed group walks are open to everyone.
Whether you’re already a regular walker, new to the group, coming on your own or simply looking for a good excuse to get out into the countryside, you’re very welcome. Around 80% of our members come to our walks on their own, and it is one of the things people love most about being part of the group.
You don’t need to know anyone before you arrive. Just bring your walking boots, enjoy the scenery and we’ll take care of the rest.

🌄 Countryside paths
🍽️ Please bring some water and a snack.
🐕 Dogs are very welcomed as long as they are on lead.
🚽 Toilet are wild options only.
What’s included: A guided 3 mile countryside walk led by a qualified walk leader, exploring Higham at a relaxed pace.
Your walk leader
Your walk is led by Jenn, founder of MJ Outdoor Adventures. She leader is a fully trained Lowland Leader with an enhanced DBS and outdoor first aid training, as well as qualifications in nutrition, wellness and female health. She works as a full time walk leader around the country for corporate, charity and community groups. MJ Outdoor Adventures is her passion project and she adores building this community. Your back marker is Lisa, a fully trained full time lowland leader with a passion for history and maps.
