Solemn Mass for the feast of Our Lord Jesus Christ the King. The Mass setting is the "Missa Ecco amor colei" of Orlando di Lasso, and there will also be sacred motets, Gregorian chant, trumpet and violin, and the singing of the "Christus vincit."After Mass, there will be an indoor Procession of the Blessed Sacrament, the annual renewal of the Act of Consecration of the Human Race to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, and Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament.
Because the feast of Christ the King is the titular feast of the Institute of Christ the King, the religious community which cares for our church, it is possible to gain a plenary indulgence by attending this Mass.
[In the traditional Latin Mass, we still keep the feast of Christ the King on its original date of the last Sunday in October, the Sunday before All Saints.]
