Please join us at the Princeton Pub, "East Van's living room," for a fun night of power pop/ post-punk/ new wave rock 'n roll with China Syndrome, the Zaxons, and Tayt Modern! CHINA SYNDROME
China Syndrome blends power pop melodies and new wave energy with driving rhythms and infectious lyrical hooks. Fans of XTC, New Order, and The Cars will find plenty to love in China Syndrome’s sharp songwriting and melodic edge. A new album is planned for early 2027.
THE ZAXONS
Zaxons are a post-punk and new wave ensemble working in a restrained British mode, characterised by fast clipped rhythms, economical guitar lines and nuerotic, observational vocals. Drawing on the functional modernism and manic tone of late-1960s British broadcast presentation, the group favour disjointed clarity and abstract ideas over display. Their songs address introversion and shifting states of consciousness, delivered with a monochrome aesthetic and a measured, institutional unease.
TAYT MODERN
Tayt Modern is Tim Huston, Paul Albert, Kieron Testa, and Chris Tait — a new incarnation of a band that has evolved on and off over the past decade. Drawing from years in Vancouver’s music scene, this version of Tayt Modern lands somewhere between post-punk, new wave and goth-pop—melodic, atmospheric, and built to come alive onstage.
No cover as always at the Princeton!
