Children's Atlas of Wine X Heritage Wines Present:
Natural Wine + Why It Matters
Minimal intervention, 'zero-zero', natty, biodynamically farmed, whatever — over the last 30 years, the natural wine movement has transformed what wine looks like in the glass, how it tastes, and where it can come from.
From a scene that, in the 90s, could basically fit into Marcel Lapierre's living room, natural wine is everywhere now — forests in southern Chile and mountains in Lebanon, bird sanctuaries in the Loire and alpine lakes in Vermont.
But mainstreaming brings its own problems — backlash, corporate greenwashing, confusion.
When is 'funky' too funky? What do biodynamic farmers actually do? Which parts of 'natty' have to do with something real, and which parts are more about...vibes?
Basically: what is natural wine, actually, and why might that matter?
Tickets include 5 tastes of a rainbow of natural wine, 15% off any featured bottle at Heritage Wines next door, and an hour and a half interactive class with James Sligh of the Children’s Atlas of Wine.
Drink Curiously is a series of introductory classes focused on providing entry points for curious drinkers.
