About this Event

Immerse yourselves in a one-of-a-kind listening experience. You get to hear from Chetina as an artist and a therapist.

Chetina is an R&B and neo-soul vocalist from Oakland, known for her soulful voice and emotionally rich storytelling. She began singing at just two years old, later growing up in church choirs and taking on leading roles in childhood musicals—early foundations that shaped her powerful, expressive sound. She went on to train at Oakland School for the Arts with a vocal emphasis, and with New Style Motherlode, expanding her performance range and musicality.

Chetina paused her pursuit of music to focus on higher education, earning a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology along with certification in Treatment and Traumatology. She became a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in 2019. After marriage and the birth of her son in 2022, she experienced postpartum depression and anxiety—an experience that ultimately led her back to her first love: music.

In August 2024, she released her debut single, Breakthrough, a reflection of the ebbs and flows of overcoming mental health challenges.

She is a member of Oakland-based vocal ensemble Co-llab Choir, which she joined in 2023. Chetina currently lends her voice to artists including LaRussell and Miko Marks, and performs as a background vocalist for artists under EMPIRE. Her collaborations span a wide range of artists, including Nai Barghouti, Shortie Shortie, Rexx Life Raj, Asake, Montell Jordan, Goapele, and many others.

Now she releases her debut album, A Grow(N) Woman, a deeply personal body of work that takes listeners through the evolving phases of womanhood, weaving together themes of healing, identity, and emotional truth through her captivating vocal delivery. As she steps fully into her artistry and entrepreneurship, Chetina marks the beginning of a powerful new chapter.
