Curious about Chacarera, Argentina's lively and expressive traditional folk dance?
Join us for a fun, accessible, and interactive workshop where we'll explore the rhythm, structure, and essential movements of Chacarera.
What we'll cover:
- A brief introduction to Chacarera and its cultural roots
- Musical structure and rhythm
- Basic steps and partner positioning
- Essential movements
- Zarandeo and basic zapateo
- Guided practice to bring everything together
Our goal: By the end of the workshop, you'll be able to dance a complete Chacarera at a milonga!
No previous Chacarera experience is necessary. Everyone is welcome!
What's next?
We're also exploring a follow-up workshop, Part 2: Style & Expression, where we'll reinforce the foundations, build confidence through practice, and explore more expressive movements, musical accents, styling, and partner interaction.
Part 2 will also welcome newcomers, with a review of the fundamentals.
