CELEBRATING CECILIAOur next concert, on [almost] her feast day, Saturday 21st November at 7:30, St Andrew's Church Corbridge.
Patron Saint of church music, for reasons that aren't particularly obvious - but an inspiration for composers down the ages, and an excuse for choirs like us to roll out some wonderful music at this time of year. Including...
- Britten, Hymn to St Cecilia
- Howells, Mag and Nunc (Collegium Regale, there's a connection we're assured)
- Peter Philips, Cecilia Virgo
- Orlando de Lassus, Cantatibus Organis
- Purcell, Hail Bright Cecilia.
Tickets £15 unreserved, you can book them directly via our website, at https://antiphonchoir.co.uk/concert/celebrating-cecilia/
