Save the date for the first storytime of fall featuring guest author and Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma citizen Christine Hartman Derr reading her book, “Until We Meet Again: Donadagohvi”. Fall is a time people from many traditions celebrate holidays and rituals of remembrance that honor ancestors such as Samhain, All Saints’ Day, Dia de los Muertos and others. Join us in the Children’s Diversity & Justice Library for some of our favorite related stories. Stay for optional activities after the storytime including outside playtime if the weather is nice, related crafts and / or other activities. This time we’ll be making our own special keepsake boxes where we can keep treasures and mementos from our ancestors, friends, loved ones and ourselves. Room H inside the Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church, 2931 Kingston Pike, Knoxville Tennessee. Stories last approximately 30 minutes with optional activities to follow. Event is appropriate for all ages and particularly well suited to preschool and early elementary children.
