A Glimpse of Heaven: Festal Choral Evensong for All SaintsCelebrate the radiant feast of All Saints with a glorious service of Festal Choral Evensong at the Cathedral. At its heart is Paul Halley’s ecstatic anthem Bring us, O Lord God, a soaring vision of the heavenly Jerusalem and the “house and gate of heaven.” The service also features Herbert Sumsion's beloved Evening Service in G, with its tuneful settings of the Magnificat and Nunc dimittis.
Arrive at 4:45 for a prelude recital by Scott Scheetz, Director of Music at First Presbyterian Church of Knoxville, or simply come at 5:00 for the liturgy. Be sure to stay afterward for a festive reception.
All are welcome! Complimentary parking is available in the lot adjacent to the Cathedral.
Unable to join us in person? The service will be livestreamed and archived for later viewing on the Cathedral’s YouTube channel: SJCKNOX.
