About this Event
The purpose of this mixer is to bring together county sheriffs, deputies, detention officers, county commissioners, district attorneys, municipal law enforcement officers, FOP leaders, and other public-safety professionals for an evening of networking and candid discussion about the latest challenges affecting law enforcement and local communities.
Guests will also have an opportunity to tour the Black Sheriffs’ Memorial, a unique historical and educational experience dedicated to preserving the contributions of Black sheriffs past and present. Major features include the bronze bust of Sheriff Lucius D. Amerson, historical monuments honoring pioneering Black sheriffs, interactive QR-code exhibits, the Sisters with Badges display recognizing African American women serving as sheriffs, and exhibits highlighting the connection between the Office of Sheriff, civil rights, public service, and American history.
