Completing a Spinning Babies® Foundational Workshop is the prerequisite for our Spinning Babies® Integration Workshop and advanced training programs.

Who May Attend
We welcome all professionals who serve people in their pregnancy and birth. Ideal for midwives, nurses, nurse practitioners, doulas and childbirth educators. Also attended by obstetricians, family medicine doctors, prenatal yoga instructors, chiropractors, acupuncturists, massage therapists, perinatal case managers, and community health workers. Recommended for people new to Spinning Babies®, as well as those practiced in it for years. CEs are available for some participants, as noted in the Continuing Education section below.

About the Trainer - Lisa Cryderman
Lisa Cryderman is a Registered Nurse with more than three decades of experience in maternal and newborn care. She currently practices in one of Western Canada’s busiest high-risk Labor and Delivery units, supporting over 6,000 births annually. Working at this scale has given her a nuanced understanding of both complex obstetrics and the everyday physiology of birth.
Her passion for birth began in the 1980s, inspired by her sisters’ home birth experiences. That early influence continues to shape her work today: integrating physiologic principles into hospital environments in ways that are practical, collaborative, and outcomes-focused.
From 2005 to 2017, Lisa served as a Birth from Within Mentor, leading prenatal education and supporting families through transformative life transitions. She continues to work as an energy healer and bodyworker, bringing a whole-person lens to pregnancy and birth care.
The Spinning Babies® approach profoundly shifted Lisa’s clinical assessments and care strategies. By focusing on balance, fetal positioning, and creating space within the pelvis, she has seen measurable differences in both birth flow and provider confidence. She is especially passionate about helping hospital teams integrate these concepts into real-world practice.
Now dedicating more of her time to education and mentorship, Lisa teaches workshops across Canada with the goal of strengthening physiologic birth within hospital systems and supporting interdisciplinary collaboration. She is committed to helping birth professionals deepen their skill set while improving the experience and outcomes for families.
Continuing Education
Maternity House Publishing, Inc. (dba Spinning Babies®) is accredited as a provider of Nursing Continuing Professional Development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation (ANCC). Successful participants are awarded 7 ANCC contact hours.
This workshop has also been approved for 7 continuing education credits by the American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM).
Many doula and childbirth education organizations accept these contact hours; check your organization’s policies.

The Spinning Babies® Workshop is the prerequisite for taking Spinning Babies® Integration Workshops, the Spinning Babies® Certified Parent Educator Training or Spinning Babies® Aware Practitioner Workshop. You can attend a Resolving Shoulder Dystocia and Breech Basics Workshops before you have attended a Spinning Babies® workshop, but we recommend you attend the Spinning Babies® workshop workshop first.
Terms of Use
This workshop does not provide a certification in Spinning Babies®️ only a document of attendance. Participants will not be able to use the name Spinning Babies® to describe their services, such as offering Spinning Babies®️, sessions, or saying “trained in Spinning Babies” after registering for or attending this workshop. Participants may use concepts and techniques introduced in the workshop in the participant’s practices. Further training is available for eligible participants which does lead towards a contractual relationship for listing or certification and use of Spinning Babies®️ brand and name.
Tax Exemption
If you are associated with an organization that is tax exempt, you will be able to indicate this on the payment page. If someone from your organization has submitted a tax exemption form to Spinning Babies®️ previously, please contact your organization to use a tax exemption form code. Otherwise, you can upload a .pdf version of your tax exemption form on the payment page and will be required to pay tax at time of purchase, but will be refunded if/when your form is accepted by Spinning Babies®️.
