Join us for a 2-hour casting workshop with Claire Bleasdale, designed specifically for actors looking to develop their understanding of the casting process and feel more confident in the room.
The session will give actors the opportunity to explore what casting professionals are looking for, how to approach an audition, and how to make strong, authentic choices under pressure.
Claire will share her industry insight and experience, offering practical guidance on how to prepare for auditions, interpret material, take direction and bring your individual qualities to the work.
Expect an interactive, supportive and practical session, with plenty of opportunity to work, receive feedback and gain a clearer understanding of how to approach casting opportunities.
Bio:
Her film credits include the BAFTA-winning short Cowboy Dave, as well as Requiem, starring Bella Ramsey, Judy, starring Maxine Peake, The Witch's Daughter, Wider Than the Sky, Paired Up, Nettle Day, Treacle Town, The Rising of the Sap, Isaac and the Ram, Pavement and Lambing Season.
In television, Claire has cast five series of UKTV/Dave’s BAFTA-nominated and Broadcast Digital Award-winning comedy Meet the Richardsons, as well as the Paddy comedy pilot for the BBC.
Her theatre work includes Matthew Dunster and Not Too Tame’s Olivier-nominated A Midsummer Night’s Dream for Shakespeare North Playhouse and Northern Stage, alongside Twelfth Night, Richard, My Richard, The Wind in the Willows, Dystopia 987, Free Your Mind, Party Skills for the End of the World, Gypsy at the Royal Exchange Theatre and The Newspaper Boy at 53two.
