Castanets Dance & Gentle Sitting Dance for Seniors. Mondays. October 5 through January 25. 11 to noon. $12 per class. This is a senior fitness class designed with rhythmic movements using castanets (A Spanish percussion instrument) while seated, following Spanish music. In class, you’ll improve hand coordination and dexterity and the class supports memory and concentration. Along with providing social interaction, you’ll enjoy gentle exercise while being introduced to Spanish music and culture. Castanets will be provided in class. This class is suitable for all mobility levels. Your Instructor, Dr. Nery Roman, will guide you thru the dance moves. Participants will register and pay as they attend at the PGICA office: 2001 Shreve Street, Punta Gorda. 941-637-1655. All PGICA classes are open to the public. Walk-ins are welcome.
