What can a photograph from more than a century ago reveal about Wellington County?Step into the past with Elysia DeLaurentis, owner and Principal Researcher of Oakenwood Research Services, for a fascinating exploration of historic photography and the changing face of Wellington County.
DeLaurentis' talk will provide an illustrated presentation focused on itinerant photographers Carter & Isaac, a husband-and-wife team, who began travelling throughout southwestern Ontario in 1902 capturing photographs of the people, buildings, landscapes, and everyday life they encountered along the way.
Their images offer a remarkable glimpse into communities and places as they once were - including parts of Wellington County that have changed dramatically or disappeared altogether.
