Join us this Sunday, 8 November 2026, for a very special Service of Holy Communion. For our proclamation of the Word, our choir and guest chamber orchestra are performing "Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme", BMV 140, by J. S. Bach!Based on the hymn of the same name by German Lutheran composer Philipp Nicolai, Bach (also a German Lutheran!), BMV 140 was composed for this Sunday in the liturgical year in 1731. It is considered one of, if not his best choir cantatas.
It's also the second Sunday of the month, which means Faith Formation! Young children will learn about baby Moses, while high school youth will discuss how they can help strengthen their communities.
Adults can meet in the Lounge for a presentation from Jayme Beneker, our synod's Disaster Response Coordinator, on the importance of Long-Term Recovery Groups for communities that have been hit by disasters.
7:30 A.M. - Service of Holy Communion (spoken)
9:00 A.M. - Faith Formation
10:00 A.M. - Cantata Service of Holy Communion
Come and join us Sunday morning in-person or through our live-stream linked in this post.
BLC is a Reconciling in Christ congregation. You are welcome here!
