Candlelit Sound Bath at CloudZen | Margate
Advertisement
A candlelit multi-instrumental sound bath at CloudZen, Margate. An hour of lying down while gong, 432Hz crystal quartz bowls, shruti box, metallophone, frame drums, chimes and vocals guide you into deep rest and relaxation.
Sometimes called sound healing, a sound bath is a relaxing and therapeutic practice using acoustic instruments to induce a deeply relaxed, meditative state. The session opens with a guided meditation and some gentle movement to help you settle. No experience needed and nothing to do — you lie down, you get warm, and the sound moves through you.
A growing body of clinical research and controlled studies highlight the power of music and sound vibrations in mood enhancement, improved relaxation, better sleep, and relief from depression and anxiety. There's also evidence that music therapy can be effective for healing, as it encourages relaxation and brings your body into a parasympathetic state. In this state, your body produces nitric oxide, which opens blood vessels, increases your cells' efficiency, and regulates blood pressure — all things that will aid a healing response.
Easy to reach from Ramsgate, Broadstairs and across Thanet.
What to bring
A cushion, a blanket or sleeping bag, and anything that will help create a warm, comfortable, cosy environment for you. Mats and eye pillows are provided, but you're very welcome to bring your own. Layer up — much better to have too many layers than not enough, your body temperature drops within the hour of lying down.
I'd encourage you not to eat for 2 hours before the session, but if you need to, keep it light. And if possible, skip stimulants and intoxicants on the day, including coffee.
Before you come
Parking is extremely limited here, so if you're driving please allow extra time.
Please arrive 5-10 minutes early to settle into the space and get comfortable. Doors close promptly at 7pm.
