This National Tree Week - 'Trees Near You', Thanet Urban Forest will be taking a look at four of Thanet's historic parks through the Through the Ages, where we will look at what trees were planted and investigate when any why they were likely to planted.
The mature trees we see today were planted by previous generations that now provide significant environmental and social benefits.
So what can we learn from the planting of the past?
And, perhaps more importantly, what should we be planting and protecting now for the generations that follow us?
Join Peter for a series of relaxed and informal tree walks through Dane Park, Hartsdown Park, Northdown Park and Ellington Park, exploring the trees, history and changing landscapes of these much-loved public parks.
You don't need to be a tree expert. Come along, have a walk, and have a good chat about trees.
