Released in December on Partisan, Heavy Metal plays like a fragmented diary of transit and alienation - part improvisational sketch, part existential thesis. Composed on the move, in borrowed rooms, taxi back seats, and late-night public spaces, the album captures the disorientation of constant motion and the psychic static of modern life, filtered through Winter’s elliptical humor and off-kilter delivery. Here, Winter trades Geese’s wiry post-punk for something murkier and more intimate, echoing Arthur Russell, Scott Walker, or early Eno, yet landing fully in his own fractured world.
Offering a rare opportunity to hear these songs rendered live, in rooms as expansive and characterful as the music itself.
