I’m so excited to invite you to my final solo doctoral recital at Florida State University, Worlds Within. This recital is a reflection on the different places, people, experiences, and pieces of ourselves that we carry with us as we move through life. The program moves through several different musical “worlds,” including musical theatre, French and Korean art song, and a new chamber work written by DaSean Stokes using my own poetry. In many ways, this program feels like a reflection of my own journey—where I come from, the things that have brought me comfort and inspiration, and the experiences that have shaped who I am now.
I’ll be joined by the wonderful Fernando Garcia, piano; Elizabeth Milan, violin; and Mitch George, cello.
