About this Event
Cacao & Astrology: Learn to Read Your Life
What if astrology wasn't about predicting your future, but learning how to read your life?
Most of us have looked at our birth chart at some point. We might know our Sun sign, our Moon or our Rising.
But understanding what all those symbols actually say — and how they relate to the life we're living — is something very different.
Cacao & Astrology: Learn to Read Your Life is an intimate four-hour workshop by Frido Education, bringing together Mexican cacao, astrology, reflection and conversation.
Astrology invites us to observe the sky: its cycles, symbols and patterns.
Cacao brings us back to the Earth: to the body, community, memory and the land from which it comes.
Somewhere between the two, we begin to observe ourselves.
What will happen during the workshop?
We'll begin by gathering around a cup of traditional Mexican cacao.
Diego will introduce cacao through its history, cultural roots and his own experience learning alongside cacao communities in Mexico.
From there, we'll move from the Earth to the sky.
Each participant will receive their own printed birth chart, which we'll use throughout the afternoon.
Together we'll learn how to navigate the basic architecture of a natal chart — the planets, signs and houses — before exploring some of its most important elements through your own life and experience.
Rather than simply listening to an astrology lecture, you'll be invited to work directly with your chart, reflect, write, ask questions and exchange perspectives with the group.
We'll finish by bringing everything together through conversation, reflection and cacao.
What will you explore?
During the four hours, we'll explore:
- The history and cultural roots of Mexican cacao
- Cacao as a practice of gathering and community
- How to navigate a birth chart
- The relationship between planets, signs and houses
- Your Sun, Moon and Rising
- Key patterns within your own natal chart
- Astrology as a symbolic language rather than a predictive system
- Reflection and journaling exercises
- Conversation and integration with the group
The intention isn't for you to leave knowing everything about astrology.
It's for you to leave knowing how to begin reading your own life through it.
Do I need to know astrology?
Not at all.
The workshop has been created so that someone looking at their birth chart for the first time can participate fully.
If you already know your Sun, Moon and Rising — or have been exploring astrology for some time — you're equally welcome.
This isn't about how much astrology you know.
It's about what you begin to recognise about yourself.
Your personal birth chart
Every participant will receive a personalised printed birth chart prepared for the workshop.
After booking, we'll ask you to send:
Date of birth
Exact time of birth
Place of birth
Please provide these details before the workshop so we can prepare your chart.
If you don't know your exact birth time, you can still participate. Simply contact us beforehand and we'll explain what we can work with.
What is included?
Your ticket includes the complete four-hour workshop, traditional Mexican cacao throughout the experience, your personalised printed birth chart, learning and reflection materials, astrology teaching and guided exercises.
The group is intentionally limited to 10–12 participants so there is enough space for questions, conversation and individual attention.
About Diego Lugo
Diego Lugo is the founder of Frido Education and Frido Cacao, an educator, astrologer and cultural storyteller whose work explores the relationship between identity, symbolism, memory and community.
He has studied astrology for more than 15 years and has worked with individuals through consultations, workshops and educational experiences for over a decade.
His approach is therapeutic and non-predictive. Rather than using astrology to tell someone what will happen to them, Diego approaches the birth chart as a symbolic language through which we can better understand our patterns, transitions and lived experience.
His work with cacao is rooted in Mexico and in years of learning alongside cacao communities, including his relationship with Abuelo Efrén Maldonado and the Maya Yokot'an community of Tabasco.
Through Frido Education, these different areas of knowledge come together around one central question:
How do we learn to read our own lives?
