About this Event
A message from your hike leader:
"Explore a 19th-century Toronto that was more than a little "Gangs of New York": corrupt cops, greedy politicians, volunteer firefighters engaging in fisticuffs with clowns in a brothel, and sectarian mobs rioting in the streets. Along the way, trace the eyebrow-raising ascent of an Irish police constable from patronage posts to house flipper to “gentleman.” The story begins at an 1890s Cabbagetown house and continues to the waterfront and Sugar Beach on a relaxed-paced urban walk."
Come along for a relaxed fall walk, fascinating stories, and a journey through Toronto’s past.
