Description: In this Spirit & Life morning talk, How do we approach the bewildering array of medical decisions that can face us (and our loved ones) in serious illness? From medications to devices to surgeries, how can we live these decisions faithfully as Catholics, caring for the gift of our earthly life, without losing sight of our journey to eternal life? This talk will introduce the foundational Catholic approach to making medical treatment decisions toward the end of life. Refined over centuries, these deeply reasonable principles can guide us to a faithful, compassionate, and realistic living of the often challenging moments of suffering and illness that accompany the end of life. Together with authentic and accessible palliative care, understanding how to approach medical treatment decisions is an essential element of opposing the grave harms of MAID.
