This illustrated talk revisits the changing face of Bury St Edmunds, comparing familiar locations as they were then and as they are now. While the town’s buildings and streetscapes may appear little changed, the lives, stories and communities within them have evolved over time, offering a fascinating glimpse into local history.
Bio:
Martyn was born and raised in Bury St Edmunds, a town he is passionate about, so much so that he became a tour guide many years ago. Martyn conducts a wide selection of illustrated talks and has written twelve books on it; as well as contributing a weekly column for the Bury Free Press on the history of the town.
