About this Event
Are you interested in exploring exciting career opportunities in the construction industry in Bedford?
Bedford College is pleased to invite you to a first Construction Skills and Careers Awareness event on Saturday 14th November at our Cauldwell Street Campus.
Held in partnership with Universal Destinations & Experiences, attendees will be able to connect with leading contractors working across our region and on the Universal United Kingdom Resort, including Galliford Try, Winvic, Wates and Careys. Representatives from Universal’s Talent Team will also be present.
The session is open to anyone aged 16 and over. Whether you’re a recent school leaver, or a professional looking to retrain and pursue something new in construction, everyone is welcome.
With 20,000 jobs expected to be created during construction and a further 8,000 direct jobs once operational, Universal United Kingdom Resort is set to have a transformative impact on our area. This first event forms part of the ongoing work the College is doing in partnership with Universal to promote new educational and career pathways into the resort for the Bedfordshire community.
What to expect on the day?
- Engaging discussions about future career pathways in construction.
- Initial information on future construction job vacancies and training opportunities in the area.
- The opportunity to meet representatives from Universal and the contractors supporting the delivery of the Universal UK resort.
- Guidance on educational qualifications and certifications needed for a successful career.
Please note this is not a jobs fair with open roles, but a first opportunity to learn more about the construction industry in Bedford, and the future construction careers and training opportunities generated by Universal’s UK resort.
Spaces are limited, and pre-booking a space is required, so don’t miss this opportunity to kickstart your career in construction and be part of one of the most exciting developments in our region.
