Building Resources of Hope: Fostering Inclusive Environments in Schools
A Two-Day Workshop with Educator Tvrtko Noa Pater (HERMES, Croatia)
About the workshop
The Department of Education at Maynooth University is pleased to welcome Tvrtko Noa Pater, a trainer from HERMES (Croatia), to support educators to confidently engage with polarising views polarising discourses affecting schools, around race, ethnicity, migration, gender and sexuality and other aspects of inclusion.
The workshop will explore the psychology and sociology of polarisation in society and school settings. It will include exercises and skill-building activities that will empower educators to seek out, engage with, and enter into dialogue with people whose views differ (sometimes radically) from their own on questions of identity, belonging, discrimination, globalisation, and power inequalities.
The workshop will equip educators to respond to emerging educational challenges with confidence adopting constructive and non-polarising approaches that foster inclusion for everyone in education.
