Join Danielle Stevenson, senior horticulturist at Arboretum Home and Garden Centre, for a relaxed, hands-on terrarium workshop suitable for complete beginners as well as established houseplant enthusiasts.Danielle will introduce the different kinds of terrarium, from open and closed ecosystems to vivariums and displays designed for cacti and succulents. She will explain which plants suit each environment and guide participants through the process of layering, planting and finishing their own closed terrarium.
You will then build your own miniature indoor garden using a glass terrarium with cork lid, three to four carefully selected plants, soil, moss, activated carbon, drainage material and decorative stones. Danielle will be on hand throughout to help with planting, composition and those important finishing touches.
