About this Event
Brush & Bowl: Guided Artistic Retreat + Matcha Whisking
Some moments are worth keeping.
This is a slow, guided workshop built around a simple idea — the one at the heart of everything we do at Gleam & Sip: nothing has to be perfect to be beautiful.
Part One · The art
You'll paint something of your own, guided every step of the way. Then it takes a turn — one we'll let you discover in the room. All we'll say is this: the part you might think you've "ruined" is the part that becomes most beautiful. This is the spirit of kintsugi, the Japanese art of mending what's broken with gold — not hiding the cracks, but making them the point. You don't need to think of yourself as artistic. You just need to let yourself begin.
Part Two · The cosy
You'll carry your art onto your own cloth cup cosy — a soft carrier that hangs from your cup and comes home with you. One of a kind, made by your own hand, yours to use every day.
Part Three · The matcha
Then you move to the tea. You'll learn to whisk your own matcha — the bowl, the water, the pour — and carry it home in the cosy you just made.
You'll leave with
- a piece of art you'll be surprised you made
- a cloth cup cosy you made yourself, one of a kind
- the matcha you whisked, carried in it
- a slow few hours that were entirely yours

- Led by a local artist, hosted on our patio
