The Red Light District's Brokers Bar Jazz Club continues this fall! Live contemporary jazz inside the historic Beurs van Berlage, with specialty cocktails and views over Centraal. Reinier Bass will be playing and joined by Jamie Peet and Ton Felices, followed by a Player's Session
Reinier Baas is a guitarist, composer and recording artist from the Netherlands with a DIY approach and an idiosyncratic body of work. He has released 11 records as a (co-)leader, with a wide variety of styles. His critically acclaimed albums 'Mostly Improvised Instrumental Indie Music' and the ambitious 'Reinier Baas vs. Princess Discombobulatrix' both earned him an Edison Award. Reinier Baas is the winner of the Boy Edgar Prize 2025 - the most prestigious award for jazz and improvised music in the Netherlands.
Drummer Jamie Peet is one of the most in-demand drummers in The Netherlands, who has worked in both jazz and hip-hop. He has toured with Gregory Porter and Kris Bowers, and he previously performed on our stage with Y-OTIS, Jasper Hoiby 3 Elements &Tin men and the Telephone. He’s part of a new wave of musicians and bands who fuse jazz, hiphop, dance and electronics. In this context he played with the likes of Jameszoo, Niels Broos and Dolphin Hyperspace.
Ton Felices is an Award winning double bass player and composer based in Amsterdam. His music describes landscapes and feelings of an ever changing contemporary world full with groovy, energetic and futuristic jazz and electronic influences. Ton is a fixture in Amsterdam's creative music scene, his versatility and melodic and virtuosic approach to the bass allow him to play frequently in a wide variety of contexts.
After the concert, the music continues with a players' session – all musicians welcome. Bring your instrument!
