"Fraser, one of the most respected of all exponents of the Scots fiddle, would look long and hard to find a more appropriate cellist as a partner...A positive joy."— The Scotsman
UPDATE! Alasdair is now touring as a powerful new family collaboration bringing together his sons Galen and Cameron Fraser and Galen’s Castilian wife, María San Miguel (of San Miguel Fraser). Rooted in the traditional Scottish repertoire that has shaped Alasdair’s musical life, as well as a deep association with the Iberian peninsula, the quartet expands outward into a vibrant, contemporary sound world, combining the diverse musical explorations of all members of this exciting new band. With generations of musical influence, family chemistry and a shared instinct for adventure, the group brings fresh energy to old traditions— moving effortlessly between fiery dance tunes, lyrical airs, original compositions and unexpected musical journeys. It is music grounded in heritage, alive in the present, and propelled by the sheer joy of playing together.
