Making his triumphant return to Ruth Eckerd Hall, acclaimed keyboardist, songwriter, and producer Brian Culbertson brings his signature blend of jazz, funk, and R&B to the stage for an unforgettable evening of music on his The Midnight Tapes Tour!Brian Culbertson celebrates a major career milestone with the release of The Midnight Tapes, his 30th album. The deeply personal project showcases Culbertson’s multi-instrumental talents as he performs all parts himself, playing 44 different instruments and blending his signature jazz, funk, and soul style with a vintage-inspired sound. Recorded and completed in just three months, the album reflects one of the most spontaneous and creatively driven periods of his career, with Culbertson overseeing the production, arrangements, and engineering. Emphasizing an old-school approach, every sound on the album was created using real instruments and analog equipment, with no computer-generated elements. The album also features a soulful reinterpretation of Bootsy Collins’ classic I’d Rather Be With You, which earned praise directly from Collins. Leading the project is the first single, 76 Monte Carlo, a groove-filled track inspired by the feeling of a long drive that captures the album’s blend of timeless musicianship and contemporary energy.
