A portion of the proceeds will benefit The Mugger Movement Mission: Tracking Sri Lanka's Crocodiles
Mugger crocodiles are endemic to South Asia and are vulnerable to extinction due to habitat loss, agricultural expansion, and hunting. Funds raised through CROCtoberfest will support research in Sri Lanka examining the home ranges and seasonal movements of one of the species’ largest remaining populations. This collaboration between the University of Hawai’i and Sri Lanka’s University of Sri Jayewardenepura will help guide conservation planning and improve our understanding of mugger crocodile ecology and behavior, supporting efforts to protect both crocodiles and local communities.
