About this Event
While corporate media cheerleads for war after war, Breakthrough News has been reporting what they won't, and now they're in the crosshairs. The outlet's journalists have faced a campaign of government attacks for refusing to toe the line on US foreign policy and MAGA’s anti-democratic domestic agenda. A Republican-led house committee has subpoenaed BreakThrough News, demanding their internal communications and financial records, and has threatened to drag its reporters to Washington for depositions. It’s a McCarthyite witch-hunt in the era of NSPM-7, Trump’s order targeting the left as domestic terrorists. But BreakThrough won’t be silenced by this new Red Scare.
Join Rania Khalek, Zoe Alexandra and Ben Becker of BreakThrough News for a live discussion on exposing the crimes of U.S. imperialism, covering movements for justice, the surging appeal of socialism, cutting through the tsunami of corporate media warmongering, and fighting back against attacks on independent media. .
The conversation will be moderated by BreakThrough News producer Emily Brease. This is the news the establishment doesn't want you to hear. Come hear it in person.
