About this Event
Dr. Matt Richardson, FACHE was appointed as Health Director for Denton County in 2014. He previously served as Director with the City of Amarillo for 9 years. He has authored peer-reviewed publications, testified to the Texas Legislature regarding public health issues, and advocates for public health practice in Denton County and the state of Texas. Dr. Richardson is a past president of the Texas Association of City and County Health Officials and a former board member of the National Board of Public Health Examiners. He has been a Council on Education in Public Health (CEPH) accreditation site reviewer since 2013 and is an expert in accreditation efforts--from national public health university programs to individual credentials and certifications.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from Abilene Christian University and both master’s and doctoral degrees in Public Health from UNTHealth. He is board-certified and a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
