Brandon Commodore brings his signature NRG to Crooners for Friends & Family, a soulful Thanksgiving Eve celebration built around great music, good people and the spirit of coming together. Joined by a lineup of some of his favorite musicians, singers, friends and family, Commodore moves through generations of jazz, soul and R&B—reimagining familiar music alongside original sounds, spontaneous moments and a distinctly Minneapolis feel. With the musicianship and energy that have become the calling card of Commodore’s live shows, Friends & Family is less about simply watching a concert and more about being part of the gathering. Brandon Commodore began his professional music career at 19, eventually taking his talents to stages around the world as drummer for the Grammy Award-winning Sounds of Blackness and legendary R&B band Mint Condition. Over the years, he expanded beyond the drum chair into writing, producing, bandleading, music direction, and live show programming, and currently serves as drummer and music director for Stokley while also touring with Prince’s New Power Generation. His career has also included collaborations with artists such as Paul Peterson, Steve Cole, and his mother, acclaimed vocalist Ginger Commodore. In 2026, Brandon released his EP This Is 40, bringing his own creative voice to the forefront with a sound rooted in soulful jazz, hip-hop, and the musical influences that have shaped his journey.
