Experience the enchanting sounds of bossa nova when “Bossa Divas!” brings together Ann Caldwell and Alva Anderson, two powerhouse vocalists and beloved fixtures of Charleston's jazz scene. Both artists are celebrated headliners in their own right. Their collaboration produces pure magic. They will appear with Porto Seguro, Charleston’s premier Brazilian jazz ensemble, in the intimate setting of Gage Hall on Sunday, November 22 at 3:00 PM.Porto Seguro infuses their performances with a unique blend of Brazilian samba, bossa, choro, and MPB (Musica Popular Brasiliera). With Alva Anderson’s soulful voice at the forefront, the band – consisting of Susan Conant (flute), John Holenko (mandolin), Tom Noren (guitar), John Kennedy (bass), and Bryce Waldron-Noren (drums)— delivers both popular hits and hidden gems that are sure to get your toes tapping and your heart singing.
This special concert marks the kick-off of Porto's 2026/2027 season.
$25 General Admission and $15 Student (under 21). Tickets can be purchased at City Paper Tickets or at the door via cash, check, or Venmo. The concert will last approximately 1 hour and will take place at Gage Hall on Archdale Street in Charleston, SC
