About this Event

The 26th annual Maurice and Shelagh Bond Memorial Lecture will be held in the nave of St George's Chapel on Tuesday 20 October 2026. The lecture begins at 7pm and will last approximately one hour. Doors open at 6:30pm.

The speaker will be Clare Jackson, Honorary Professor of Early Modern History at the University of Cambridge, and author of Devil-Land: England Under Siege 1588-1688 (2021) and, most recently, The Mirror of Great Britain: A Life of James VI & I (2025). She will contextualise the significance of St George’s Chapel in the turbulent politics and religion of the seventeenth century.

Admission is free but by named ticket only. Please bring your ticket and photo ID with you.
