We’re told to work hard, do a good job and let our work speak for itself. But is that really enough?

How do you make sure your work gets noticed? When should you ask for more money? How do you manage up without becoming a yes-person? How much does who you know actually matter? And how do you know when it’s time to leave?

For our November edition of Bold Talks, we’re talking about The Career Rules Nobody Teaches You.

The things most of us learn through experience, mistakes and probably a few questionable career decisions along the way. 😂

What are we getting into?

  Building relationships with senior people, speaking up and knowing which battles are worth having.

  When do you ask for more? How do you make the case? And what do you do when the answer is no?

  Mentors, sponsors, managers and networks. How much do relationships really influence our careers?
• Knowing when to leave
  Sometimes the next step isn’t another promotion. Sometimes it’s getting out.
• The unwritten rules
  All those things nobody puts in the employee handbook, but somehow everyone is expected to figure out.

Expect different perspectives

We’ll hear from people who see careers from very different sides, including recruitment and senior B2B leaders who have learned plenty of these lessons themselves.

We want the stuff they wish someone had told them earlier, not the answers you can find in a career advice book.

Expect honest stories, conversation tables, audience participation and plenty of opinions.

No sales pitches. No pretending everyone has their career figured out. Just good people having the conversations we probably should be having more often.
