About this Event
The Blue Economy Student Forum 2026 is a student-led gathering bringing together students, policymakers, researchers, entrepreneurs, and innovators to explore the future of ocean sustainability and the global blue economy.
Hosted at University College London, the forum will convene 100–150 students and early-career professionals across London to engage directly with leaders working at the intersection of ocean governance, innovation, policy, and environmental storytelling.
Organised by students from the UCL Institute for Global Prosperity in collaboration with Fast Forward 2030, the forum aims to strengthen ocean literacy, highlight youth leadership, and demystify pathways into policy, entrepreneurship, and sustainability careers within the blue economy.
What to Expect
The forum will feature keynote addresses, panel discussions, and interactive exchanges with leaders working across ocean policy, conservation, innovation, and storytelling.
The programme will explore three major themes:
- Ocean Governance & Policy - understanding global ocean commitments, marine protection initiatives, and the role of international collaboration.
- Youth Leadership in the Blue Economy - how students and young professionals are already shaping ocean sustainability through research, advocacy, and entrepreneurship.
- Innovation & Entrepreneurship in Ocean Solutions - startup journeys, investor perspectives, and emerging opportunities in the blue economy.
Participants will also have opportunities to network with speakers, connect with peers across universities, and explore pathways into careers related to ocean sustainability.
