BLOOM AFTER DARK VOL. 8: LIFE IN DIGITAL
Featuring Artist in Residence Alejandro Pinpon
October 30 | 7–10 PM
El Jardín Inn | Little Havana, Miami
Free & Open to the Community
Join us for Bloom After Dark Vol. 8, celebrating our eighth Artist in Residence, Alejandro Pinpon, with Life in Digital—an exhibition exploring the strange, stylish, and increasingly seamless relationship between our physical and digital lives.
Through a new series of paintings and a site-specific mural, Pinpon transforms familiar snapshots of everyday life—selfies, social media moments, fashion, and technology—into surreal portraits of contemporary culture. Floating hands appear throughout the work as playful symbols of the conveniences technology provides, performing the endless tasks that have become part of our digitally assisted lives.
Rooted in a distinctly Latin visual language, the exhibition explores contemporary fashion through details like tattoos, jewelry, clothing, personal style, and self-expression, blurring the boundaries between portraiture, identity, and the curated versions of ourselves we share online.
