Made independently in 2003, Afro-Punk centered Black punks navigating the margins of mainstream Black culture and predominantly white punk scene. This film helped connect a community and spark a movement.
More than two decades later, experience the newly remastered film with director James Spooner, hear about his latest graphic memoir, It Starts with Anger: A Punk Beginning. An AFROPUNK Ending., and join us for a special Black Punk Vanguard Award presentation honoring Moe Mitchell.
