POLICY OVER POLITICS: 2026 GENERAL ELECTION CANDIDATE FORUMJoin the Black Legacy Homeowners Network (BLHN) for our pivotal October Candidate Forum. As ballots drop across King County, we are bringing local candidates directly to the community to address the critical issues facing Black legacy homeowners, elders, and generational property owners.
This forum is designed to move beyond rhetoric and demand concrete commitments on the policies that determine whether our families stay rooted in Seattle and South King County.
Key Issues On the Table:
Property Tax Relief & Senior Exemptions: Expanding income limits, streamlining relief applications, and funding local stabilization.
Anti-Predatory Real Estate Enforcement: Enforcing Seattle’s new "Do Not Solicit" protections (Ordinance 127491) and stopping predatory speculators.
Home Repair & Expansion Grants: Dedicated municipal funding for legacy home improvements, roof/sewer repairs, and ADU/DADU development.
Estate Planning & Heirs Property: Protecting family titles and preventing involuntary displacement through tax or partition sales.
