About this Event
Black History Youth & Community Awards 2026
Proud to Be Me
Honouring our past. Celebrating today. Inspiring tomorrow.
Join Race Council Cymru and Black History Cymru 365 for a special evening celebrating the remarkable achievements, contributions and leadership of young people and community champions across Wales.
Taking place at the Senedd in Cardiff Bay on Wednesday 11 November 2026, the Black History Youth & Community Awards will recognise individuals whose dedication, creativity, courage and commitment are making a meaningful difference in their communities.
Under this year's theme, Proud to Be Me, we come together to celebrate identity, heritage, achievement and belonging while recognising the next generation of changemakers shaping Wales.
What to expect
An inspiring evening of recognition, celebration and community connection, honouring achievements across education, entrepreneurship, science and innovation, sport, the creative industries, volunteering, caring responsibilities, leadership and public service.
The awards celebrate outstanding young people aged 13 to 30, alongside community champions whose efforts continue to strengthen communities and create opportunities for others.
This is more than an awards ceremony. It is an opportunity to recognise exceptional contributions, share inspiring stories and celebrate the richness of Black history and community life in Wales.
