About this Event
Join us for Black Brilliance, a powerful open mic and community showcase honouring the creativity, resilience, and legacy of Black communities. Rooted in Black History Month, this gathering celebrates brilliance not just as talent but as survival, imagination, joy, resistance, and collective care.
Hosted by Hip Hop Healing in partnership with TAIBU Community Health Centre, AMANI Mental Health & Substance Use, and RISE Edutainment, this event creates a welcoming space for spoken word, music, storytelling, and artistic expression across generations.
What to Expect:
- Open mic performances (poetry, music, spoken word, movement etc. )
- Featured artists and community voices
- Reflections on Black history, identity, wellness, and resistance
- A healing-centered, affirming space rooted in culture and community
This showcase uplifts Black voices while centering mental wellness, connection, and pride. Whether you’re performing, listening, or supporting, Black Brilliance invites you to witness and celebrate the power of Black expression in all its forms.
